This CCI Annual Report once more reads as a detailed overview of modern astronomical research. The fields covered concern the Sun and solar-system objects, stars and exoplanets, supernovae and gamma-ray burst sources, galaxies – active or not – and clusters, and cosmology.
The two sites of the Canary Islands Observatories are actively exploited day and night, being rather unique in offering superb facilities for both solar and night-time astrophysics, and being fully unique in accommodating a Cerenkov Telescope as well. Various contributions describe the continuous development of new instrumentation, which offer the best guarantee for maintaining the leading position of the observatories in current observational astrophysics.
