Description

The main purpose of the Dimensional Metrology Laboratory is to verify that the manufactured parts meet the required specifications. This normally involves checking the component's size, shape and surface quality. In addition, the laboratory sometimes is also used during the assembly process of optomechanical components where, thanks to the measuring means available in the laboratory, the required assembly accuracy can be guaranteed. The main equipment of the laboratory consists of several high precision three-coordinate measuring machines with or without contact. The laboratory also has a tool presetting machine, rugosimeter, gauge blocks, height gauges, micrometers, centering devices, comparators, calibers, etc., all maintained in a controlled and registered temperature and humidity environment.
