Description

The scientific objective of this project is the compositional characterization of the primitive asteroids, which we will carry out through three actions:
1. Participation in the two space missions that will visit and study near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) of primitive type.
2. The compositional characterization of the collisional families and groups of primitive asteroids from which these NEAs come.
3. The study and characterization of other NEAs that may be targets of future space missions and of asteroids classified as potentially hazardous (PHAs)

Minor Bodies of the Solar System

This project studies the physical and compositional properties of the so-called minor bodies of the Solar System, that includes asteroids, icy objects, and comets. Of special interest are the trans-neptunian objects (TNOs), including those considered the most distant objects detected so far (Extreme-TNOs or ETNOs); the comets and the comet-asteroid
