We estimate cosmological parameters using data obtained by the Very Small Array (VSA) in its extended configuration, in conjunction with a variety of other cosmic microwave background (CMB) data and external priors. Within the flat Λ cold dark matter (ΛCDM) model, we find that the inclusion of high-resolution data from the VSA modifies the limits

Cosmology: The lithium problem
The theory that predicts how the lightest elements formed after the Big Bang has hitherto failed to explain the amount of cosmic lithium. The detection of interstellar lithium beyond the Milky Way gives this theory a boost. See Article p.121

Cross section measurement of t-channel single top quark production in pp collisions at √{ s} = 13TeV
The cross section for the production of single top quarks in the t channel is measured in proton-proton collisions at 13TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. The analyzed data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 2.2fb-1. The event selection requires one muon and two jets where one of the jets is identified as originating from a bottom quark

CS J = 5 - 4 observations of galactic molecular clouds
Observations from a sample of six regions of star formation in the 244 GHz, J = 5-4 rotational transition of CS, together with previous results for lower frequencies, indicate that the line temperatures for this transition in the cases of OMC-1, M17 SW, W3(OH) and Ori B are consistent with constant density, large velocity gradient models. This in

Cu and Zn in the early Galaxy
We present Cu and Zn abundances for 38 FGK stars, mostly dwarfs, spanning a metallicity range between solar and [Fe/H] = -3. The abundances were obtained using Kurucz's local thermal equilibrium (LTE) model atmospheres and the near-UV lines of Cu I 3273.95 Å and Zn I 3302.58 Å observed at high spectral resolution. The trend of [Cu/Fe] versus [Fe/H]

Current status of FRIDA: diffraction limited NIR instrument for the GTC
FRIDA (inFRared Imager and Dissector for the Adaptive optics system of the Gran Telescopio Canarias) is designed as a diffraction limited instrument that will offer broad and narrow band imaging and integral field spectroscopy capabilities with low (R ~ 1,500), intermediate (R ~ 4,500) and high (R ~ 30,000) spectral resolutions to operate in the
