  • The Anomalous Chromomagnetic Dipole Moment of the Top Quark
We calculate the one loop corrections to the chromomagnetic dipole moment of the top quark in the framework of the Standard Model, the two Higgs doublet model and the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. In the Standard Model we consider the QCD and the electroweak corrections generated by gluon and Higgs boson exchanges, respectively. In the

  • The Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE)
The Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE), one of the programs in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III (SDSS-III), has now completed its systematic, homogeneous spectroscopic survey sampling all major populations of the Milky Way. After a three-year observing campaign on the Sloan 2.5 m Telescope, APOGEE has collected a half

  • The APOGEE-2 Survey of the Orion Star-forming Complex. II. Six-dimensional Structure
We present an analysis of spectroscopic and astrometric data from APOGEE-2 and Gaia DR2 to identify structures toward the Orion Complex. By applying a hierarchical clustering algorithm to the six-dimensional stellar data, we identify spatially and/or kinematically distinct groups of young stellar objects with ages ranging from 1 to 12 Myr. We also

  • The Araucaria Project: A Wide-Field Photometric Survey for Cepheid Variables in NGC 3109
We have obtained mosaic images of NGC 3109 in the V and I bands on 74 nights, spanning approximately 1 yr. From these data, we have conducted an extensive search for Cepheid variables over the entire field of the galaxy, resulting in the discovery of 113 variables with periods ranging from 3.4 to 31.4 days. In this sample, 76 Cepheids, including

  • The Arches cluster revisited. II. A massive eclipsing spectroscopic binary in the Arches cluster
We have carried out a spectroscopic variability survey of some of the most massive stars in the Arches cluster, using K-band observations obtained with SINFONI on the VLT. One target, F2, exhibits substantial changes in radial velocity (RV); in combination with new KMOS and archival SINFONI spectra, its primary component is found to undergo RV

  • The asteroseismic ground-based observational counterpart of CoRoT
We present different aspects of the ground-based observational counterpart of the CoRoT satellite mission. We give an overview of the selected asteroseismic targets, the numerous instruments and observatories involved, and the first scientific results.
