Last two years the GTC control system has continued its design and
prototyping activity. This paper presents the current state of the GTC
control system architecture. The overall architecture is already
designed and the main subsystems have been specified and are being
designed. Design patterns have been applied to the architecture design
and are also used as an effective way to document the design.
