  • The low L solar p-mode spectrum at maximum and minimum solar activity
Velocity measurements of disc integrated sunlight obtained at the Observatorio del Teide (Izana) from 1980 throughout 1989 are used to find the frequencies and amplitudes of each p-mode with l less than 4 and n between 5 and 33. The 32 best monthly spectra obtained are averaged in two separate groups corresponding to periods with solar activity

  • Star formation in the spiral arms of NGC 4321. I - CO observations
Several positions in the southern spiral arm and the interarm disk of NGC 4321 have been observed in CO (J = 1 to 0) using the NRO 45 m telescope at Nobeyama, Japan. The analysis shows evidence for streaming motions in the arms, together with an exponential radial decrease of both the integrated CO emission and the velocity width at the observed

  • Estimating the Degradation of Brightness Power Spectra of Solar Granulation from Images Outside the Disk Centre
A method is presented to estimate the influence of the atmospheric turbulence and the telescope on the mean power spectra of the granulation brightness distribution at positions outside the disk centre, derived using the determination of Fried's parameter. The procedure is based on the differential degradation suffered by the directions

  • Molecular and low excitation emission in high mass post-main-sequence nebulae
    A broad range of type I post-main-sequence nebulae have been mapped and studied spectroscopically in the J = 1 - 0, J = 2 - 1, and J = 3 - 2 transitions of CO using the 12-m antenna at Kitt Peak and the 45-m facility at the Nobeyama Radio Observatory. CO J = 2 - 1 emission associated with NGC 3132 and NGC 6445 is detected; the location of CO J = 1
