  • Search for black holes and other new phenomena in high-multiplicity final states in proton-proton collisions at √{ s} = 13TeV
    A search for new physics in energetic, high-multiplicity final states has been performed using proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.3fb-1. The standard model background, dominated by multijet production, is determined exclusively from

  • Search for a light pseudoscalar Higgs boson produced in association with bottom quarks in pp collisions at √{s}=8 TeV
    A search for a light pseudoscalar Higgs boson (A) produced in association with bottom quarks and decaying into a muon pair is reported. The search uses 19.7 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment. No signal is observed in the dimuon mass range from 25 to 60 GeV. Upper limits on the

  • SCUBA-2 Ultra Deep Imaging EAO Survey (STUDIES): Faint-end Counts at 450 μm
    The SCUBA-2 Ultra Deep Imaging EAO Survey (STUDIES) is a three-year JCMT Large Program aiming to reach the 450 μm confusion limit in the COSMOS-CANDELS region to study a representative sample of the high-redshift far-infrared galaxy population that gives rise to the bulk of the far-infrared background. We present the first-year data from STUDIES

  • Rise of the Titans: A Dusty, Hyper-luminous “870 μm Riser” Galaxy at z ∼ 6
    We report the detection of ADFS-27, a dusty, starbursting major merger at a redshift of z = 5.655, using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). ADFS-27 was selected from Herschel/Spectral and Photometric Imaging Receiver (SPIRE) and APEX/LABOCA data as an extremely red “870 μm riser” (i.e., {S}250μ {{m}} {S}350μ {{m}} {S}500μ {{m}

  • Quantitative spectroscopic analyses in the IACOB+OWN project: Massive O-type stars in the Galaxy with the current Gaia information
    We present the results from the quantitative spectroscopic analysis of ~280 likely single O stars targeted by the IACOB and OWN surveys. This implies the largest sample of Galactic O-type stars analyzed homogeneously to date. We used the iacob-broad and iacob-gbat tools (see Simón-Díaz et al. 2011,2015) to obtain the complete set of spectroscopic

  • Planck intermediate results. LII. Planet flux densities
    Measurements of flux density are described for five planets, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, across the six Planck High Frequency Instrument frequency bands (100-857 GHz) and these are then compared with models and existing data. In our analysis, we have also included estimates of the brightness of Jupiter and Saturn at the three
