I am a staff scientist (Científico Titular) at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, where I lead a research team focused on accretion and outflow processes in X-ray binaries. My scientific career began with a PhD at the IAC, followed by postdoctoral appointments at the Osservatorio Astronomico di Brera (Italy) and the Universities of Southampton and Oxford (UK), supported by two Marie Curie fellowships. My research centres on X-ray binary systems, with contributions in three main areas: dynamical mass measurements, the characterisation of accretion states in neutron stars and black holes, and the study of outflows— particularly the discovery and investigation of low-ionisation disc winds.
