  • Possible detection of Jovian global oscillations
Observations of the Jupiter were carried out using a refined version of the stellar seismometer with a sensitivity of better than 50 cm/s. The observations revealed the existence of strong velocity variations of the planets in the 10-20-min period range. It is concluded that the observed variations can only be explained as global acoustic modes

  • Power spectra comparison between GOLF and spatially masked MDI velocity signals
The Global Oscillations at Low Frequency (GOLF) and the Michelson Doppler Imager (MDI) instruments aboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) give an excellent opportunity to search for solar low frequency oscillation modes previously undetected from ground based experiments. Presented here is a comparison of the velocity power spectra

  • Precision Ephemerides for Gravitational-wave Searches - III. Revised system parameters of Sco X-1
Neutron stars (NSs) in low-mass X-ray binaries are considered promising candidate sources of continuous gravitational waves. These NSs are typically rotating many hundreds of times a second. The process of accretion can potentially generate and support non-axisymmetric distortions to the compact object, resulting in persistent emission of

  • Predictions about CR emission from evoluationary synthesis models
We have extended our evolutionary synthesis models for star forming regions to the γ-ray domain. We obtain the light-curves of γ-ray line emission due to radioactive decay of stellar nucleosynthesis products, such as 26 Al, 60 Fe, or the e- e+ annihilation line as well as the evolution of the kinetic energy from massive stars. We present the

  • Preliminary Results from an Open Cluster Polarimetric Survey
We present preliminary results from the Open Cluster Polarimetric Survey. The aim of the survey is to provide clues about the characteristics of the dust responsible for extinction and polarization in the light from cluster members, about its spatial distribution and also about possible memberships. Our data on linear optical polarimetry were
