Summer and Winter Schools

Since 1989, the best global specialists in a subject of special interest in Astrophysics teach and live, for two weeks a year, with young astrophysicists from around the world in the Canary Islands Winter School of Astrophysics. The lessons of these schools are published by Cambridge University Press, forming a specific series.

Applications invited from doctoral students and recently qualified Doctors of Astrophysics.

During the schools, students have the opportunity to:

  • receive a comprehensive update on a current subject of great interest in astronomy.
  • exchange information with the best Astrophysicists.
  • visit the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos (La Palma) and the Observatorio del Teide (Tenerife).
