  • The 10-200 MU M spectral energy distribution of the prototype narrow-line X-ray galaxy NGC 7582
We present the spectral energy distribution (SED) between 10 and 200 mu m obtained for the prototype narrow-line X-ray galaxy NGC 7582 with ISOPHOT, the photometer on board the Infrared Space Observatory. The emission is spatially extended and we separated for the first time the nuclear and extranuclear infrared SEDs. The nuclear luminosity (L_IR ~

  • The 65 Day Period in 3C 66A during Bright State
Historically, 3C 66A has been considered a relative quiescent blazar. For that reason, 3C 66A was selected as a comparison source for OJ 287 in the OJ-94 project. However, after more detailed observation it turns out that the variability of 3C 66A itself is very interesting. We have analyzed the entire project data set of 3C 66A from fall of 1993

  • The ACS LCID Project. IV. Detection of the Red Giant Branch Bump in Isolated Galaxies of the Local Group
We report the detection and analysis of the red giant branch (RGB) luminosity function bump in a sample of isolated dwarf galaxies in the Local Group. We have designed a new analysis approach comparing the observed color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) with theoretical best-fit CMDs derived from precise estimates of the star formation histories of each

  • The ACS LCID project: data reduction strategy
During Cycle 14 a total of 113 HST orbits were secured to observe five isolated dwarf galaxies, namely Tucana, LGS3, LeoA, IC1613, and Cetus. The aim of the project is a full characterization of the stellar content of these galaxies, in term of their SFH, radial distributions, halo populations and variable stars. • The ACS LCID project: overview and first results
The star formation history (SFH) of Local Group galaxies is a powerful tool for studying their evolution, including chemical enrichment histories and stellar population gradients, which in turn may shed light on the role of reionization or Supernovae feedback in galaxy formation and evolution. In particular, isolated dwarfs are ideal laboratories
