  • The dark energy survey: detection of weak lensing magnification of supernovae and constraints on dark matter haloes
The residuals of the distance moduli of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) relative to a Hubble diagram fit contain information about the inhomogeneity of the Universe, due to weak lensing magnification by foreground matter. By correlating the residuals of the Dark Energy Survey Year 5 SN Ia sample (DES-SN5YR) with extragalactic foregrounds from the DES

  • The COSMOS-Web ring: In-depth characterization of an Einstein ring lensing system at z ∼ 2
Aims: We provide an in-depth analysis of the COSMOS-Web ring, an Einstein ring at z ≈ 2 that we serendipitously discovered during the data reduction of the COSMOS-Web survey and that could be the most distant lens discovered to date. Methods: We extracted the visible and near-infrared photometry of the source and the lens from more than 25 bands

  • The Complete CEERS Early Universe Galaxy Sample: A Surprisingly Slow Evolution of the Space Density of Bright Galaxies at z ∼ 8.5–14.5
We present a sample of 88 candidate z ∼ 8.5–14.5 galaxies selected from the completed NIRCam imaging from the Cosmic Evolution Early Release Science survey. These data cover ∼90 arcmin 2 (10 NIRCam pointings) in six broadband imaging filters and one medium-band imaging filter. With this sample we confirm at higher confidence early JWST conclusions

  • The colliding-wind binary HD 168112
Context. Radio surveys of early-type stars have revealed a number of non-thermal emitters. Most of these have been shown to be binaries, where the collision between the two stellar winds is responsible for the non-thermal emission. Aims: HD 168112 is a non-thermal radio emitter, whose binary nature has only recently been confirmed spectroscopically

  • The CAVITY project: The spatially resolved stellar population properties of galaxies in voids
The Universe is shaped as a web-like structure, formed by clusters, filaments, and walls that leave large low number-density volumes in between named voids. Galaxies in voids have been found to be of a later type, bluer, less massive, and to have a slower evolution than galaxies in denser environments (filaments and walls). However, the effect of

  • The breakdown of current gyrochronology as evidenced by old coeval stars
Gyrochronology can yield useful ages for field main-sequence stars, a regime where other techniques are problematic. Typically, gyrochronology relations are calibrated using young (2 Gyr) clusters, but the constraints at older ages are scarce, making them potentially inaccurate and imprecise. In order to test the performance of existing relations
