  • Impacts of Bar-driven Shear and Shocks on Star Formation
Bars drive gas inflow. As the gas flows inward, shocks and shear occur along the bar dust lanes. Such shocks and shear can affect the star formation (SF) and change the gas properties. For four barred galaxies, we present Hα velocity gradient maps that highlight bar-driven shocks and shear using data from the PHANGS-MUSE and PHANGS-ALMA surveys

  • Impact of beam far side-lobe knowledge in the presence of foregrounds for LiteBIRD
We present a study of the impact of a beam far side-lobe lack of knowledge on the measurement of the Cosmic Microwave Background B-mode signal at large scale. Beam far side-lobes induce a mismatch in the transfer function of Galactic foregrounds between the dipole and higher multipoles which degrads the performances of component separation methods

  • HIP 41378 observed by CHEOPS: Where is planet d?
HIP 41378 d is a long-period planet that has only been observed to transit twice, three years apart, with K2. According to stability considerations and a partial detection of the Rossiter-McLaughlin effect, P d = 278.36 d has been determined to be the most likely orbital period. We targeted HIP 41378 d with CHEOPS at the predicted transit timing

  • Hidden Gems on a Ring: Infant Massive Clusters and Their Formation Timeline Unveiled by ALMA, HST, and JWST in NGC 3351
We use 0.1″ observations from the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA), Hubble Space Telescope (HST), and JWST to study young massive clusters (YMCs) in their embedded "infant" phase across the central starburst ring in NGC 3351. Our new ALMA data reveal 18 bright and compact (sub-)millimeter continuum sources, of which 8 have counterparts in JWST

  • HARMONI at ELT: pre-optics optical design at FDR
HARMONI is the first light visible and near-IR integral field spectrograph for the Extremely Large Telescope. It covers a large spectral range from 470nm to 2450nm with resolving powers from 3300 to 18000 and spatial sampling from 60mas to 4mas. It can operate in two Adaptive Optics modes (including a High Contrast capability) - or with Non

  • GRANCAIN: the first light infrared camera for GTCAO: end-to-end optical design, integration, and verification
The Gran Telescopio de Canarias Adaptive Optic System (GTCAO) is built to provide nearly diffraction-limited images to GTC. GRANCAIN (GRAN CAmara INfrarroja) is the first light cryogenic imaging instrument in J, H, and K infrared bands, which will be integrated into the Nasmyth focus of GTCAO. The instrument is designed to image the NIR
