  • Periodic Radio and Hα Emission from the L Dwarf Binary 2MASSW J0746425+200032: Exploring the Magnetic Field Topology and Radius Of An L Dwarf
We present an 8.5 hr simultaneous radio, X-ray, UV, and optical observation of the L dwarf binary 2MASSW J0746425+200032. We detect strong radio emission, dominated by short-duration periodic pulses at 4.86 GHz with P = 124.32 ± 0.11 min. The stability of the pulse profiles and arrival times demonstrates that they are due to the rotational

  • Outflows from massive blue stars
We present in this contribution a revision of the origin, main properties and open issues in the field of winds of massive blue stars, with a particular emphasis in the ultraviolet observations

  • New ultra-cool dwarfs from SDSS and 2MASS (Zhang+, 2009)
SDSS and 2MASS photometry of 129 ultra-cool dwarf candidates. The photometric data are from the seventh Data Release of the SDSS Photometric and the 2MASS All-Sky Catalog of Point Sources. Proper motions are found by dividing the difference between the 2MASS and SDSS coordinates by the observational epoch difference. Spectral types are based on the

  • Near-Infrared Spectroscopy of Seyfert Galaxies. Nuclear Activity and Stellar Population
Near-infrared (near-IR) spectroscopic data for the five Seyfert galaxies with jet-gas interaction Mrk 348, Mrk 573, Mrk 1066, NGC 7212, and NGC 7465, taken with the Long-slit Intermediate Resolution Infrared Spectrograph near-IR camera/spectrometer at the William Herschel Telescope are reported. The long-slit spectra reveal the characteristic

  • Multiple stellar populations in Magellanic Cloud clusters. I. An ordinary feature for intermediate age globulars in the LMC?
Context: The discovery of multiple main sequences (MS) in the massive clusters NGC 2808 and Omega Centauri, along with multiple subgiant branches in NGC 1851 and NGC 6388 has challenged the long-held paradigm that globular clusters consist of simple stellar populations. This evolving picture has been further complicated by recent photometric

  • Multi-angular regolith effects on planetary soft X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy
Fluorescent X-rays from the surfaces of airless planetary bodies in the inner solar system have been measured by instruments on several spacecraft. MESSENGER carries an X-ray spectrometer (XRS) on-board and has already attempted to obtain fluorescent X-rays from the Hermean surface. BepiColombo will later on carry an X-ray telescope (MIXS-T) along
