Chromospheric polarity reversals on sunspots. Are they consistent with weak line emission?
Photospheric and chromospheric solar magnetograms sometimes show opposite polarity. This intriguing phenomenon is associated with the emergence of magnetic flux and with nearby, but not necessarily superposed, flaring activity.
