IAC researcher Miquel Serra-Ricart will coordinate the expedition, which will observe and webcast live the total eclipse of the Sun from the north of Kenya next Sunday, 3 November. The partial eclipse can be observed from the south of Europe, the best site being the Canary Islands, with
a 31% occultation of the Sun's disc.
Even though it is one of the most spectacular celestial phenomena, it isn't easy to see a total eclipse of the Sun since it occurs only over a narrow of the planet's surface. Thanks to the GLORIA project, the phenomenon can be observed from anywhere with an Internet connection.
