The Nobel Laureate Claude Cohen-Tannoudji visits the IAC and the Teide Observatory

The IAC gave a welcome today, at the installations of its Headquarters in La Laguna, and at the Teide Observatory (Izaña, Tenerife) to the 1997 Nobel Laureate in Physics, Claude Cohen-Taddoudji. His visit took place because of the participation of this eminent scientist in the XI Conference of Physics students, celebrate in the University of La Laguna during15th and 16th March.

As he toured the IAC premises Rafael Rebolo, the Director, gave him information about the various fields of researcj at the Institute, about the astrophysical instruments which are being produced here, and about the science carried out with the telescopes at the observatories in Tenerife and La Palma. Subsequently he signed the book of honour of the IAC.
