During the last three days over 60 talks have been given, presenting the latest scientific results obtained using data from the Gran Telescopio Canarias, as well as the current and future instrumentation for this exceptional telescope with which the Universe is observed from the Summit of La Palma.

The scientific meeting about the largest optical and infrared telescope in the world was inaugurated today, Wednesday 12th December, in the centre of the University-Business Foundation of the University of Valencia. The meeting, which will continue until Friday, is focused on the analysis of the most recent resuilts obtained with the GTC and on future observational strategies.

Between the 12th and 14th December there will be a meeting in Valencia in which the most recent results obtained with the Gran Telescopio Canarias, the largest optical and infrared telescope in the world, will be presented.

El Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades ha anunciado hoy la concesión del Premio Nacional de Investigación en Ciencias Físicas, Ciencias de los Materiales y de la Tierra a Rafael Rebolo López, profesor de Investigación del CSIC, actual director del Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias e investigador con una larga trayectoria en el centro. Este es uno de los reconocimientos más importantes de España en el ámbito de la investigación científica.
