  • Physical properties of the trans-Neptunian object (38628) Huya from a multi-chord stellar occultation
Context. As part of our international program aimed at obtaining accurate physical properties of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs), we predicted a stellar occultation by the TNO (38628) Huya of the star Gaia DR2 4352760586390566400 (m G = 11.5 mag) on March 18, 2019. After an extensive observational campaign geared at obtaining the astrometric data

  • Toward excluding a light Z' explanation of b →s ℓ+ℓ-
The discrepancies between b →s ℓ +ℓ - data and the corresponding Standard Model predictions constitute one of the most significant hints for new physics currently available. In fact, many scenarios that can account for these anomalies have been proposed in the literature. However, only a single light new physics explanation, i.e., with a mass below

  • Transmission spectroscopy of MASCARA-1b with ESPRESSO: Challenges of overlapping orbital and Doppler tracks
Atmospheric studies at high spectral resolution have shown the presence of molecules, neutral and ionised metals, and hydrogen in the transmission spectrum of ultra-hot Jupiters, and have started to probe the dynamics of their atmospheres. We analyse the transmission spectrum of MASCARA-1b, one of the densest ultra-hot Jupiters orbiting a bright (V

  • Uncovering the true periods of the young sub-Neptunes orbiting TOI-2076
Context. TOI-2076 is a transiting three-planet system of sub-Neptunes orbiting a bright (G = 8.9 mag), young (340 ± 80 Myr) K-type star. Although a validated planetary system, the orbits of the two outer planets were unconstrained as only two non-consecutive transits were seen in TESS photometry. This left 11 and 7 possible period aliases for each

  • Velocity-dependent annihilation radiation from dark matter subhalos in cosmological simulations
We use the suite of Milky Way-like galaxies in the Auriga simulations to determine the contribution to annihilation radiation from dark matter subhalos in three velocity-dependent dark matter annihilation models: Sommerfeld, p-wave, and d-wave models. We compare these to the corresponding distribution in the velocity-independent s-wave annihilation
