The International Scientific Conference La Gomera Accretion Week 2017, dealing with extremely compact stellar objects, which lasted from 11 to 15th September brought together 65 researchers from 14 countries, and 4 continents, in the municipality of San Sebastián de la Gomera, organized by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) with the collaboration of the Cabildo Insular of La Gomera and the Town Council of San Sebastián

The study, published in the Astrophysical Journal, is based on observations of the expanding remnant of Tycho’s supernova

The Cabildo of La Palma, the Town Council of Puntagorda, the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias and the TMT International Observatory have signed a framework agreement which indicates the principles and the areas of collaboration required to implement this scientific project on the island.
