Description

The Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope (DKIST) will enter its operation phase in approximately 6 months with the important goal of studying the solar corona. For the first time with DKIST and a cryogenic infrared spectropolarimeter first-light instrument (CryoNIRSP) we will routinely measure coronal magnetism and observe the multiphasic coronal plasma. In this talk I will discuss some of the key coronal physics questions the CryoNIRSP will address at first light, and the performance of the telescope with these coronal observing capabilities.
