Description
The choice of transit detection algorithm can have a strong influence on the results of any photometric exoplanet search. This paper outlines a technique by which the different algorithms can be compared, performing this comparison for the simple case of white Gaussian noise. Perhaps more interestingly, this comparison technique can in the future be extended to test different methods for filtering out coloured stellar noise and what effect using colour filters on one or more of the main telescopes will have on the ability of the mission to detect planets.
