Description
A solar correlation tracker which compensates for image motion in the focal plane of a solar telescope is presented. The design has been implemented using transputers and a video motion estimation processor: the LSI Logic L64720 whose high computational rate overcomes the limitations due to the large computational delays associated with other alternatives which attempt to stabilize extended, low-contrast, solar-type images such as solar granulation.
