Description
With the main goal of investigating the AGN and/or Starburst nature of LINERs, we have studied their FIR properties. Based on the classical indicators of Star Formation activity S25/S100 and the S60/S100 ratios, we have confirmed their heterogeous nature and they can be separated in three groups: normal spiral galaxies with low level nuclear star formation, galaxies with enhanced star formation to be bonafide candidates to Starburst systems, and ongoing mergers with very peculiar SPR up to a few hundreds.
