Description
As the epoch of spheroid formation in massive galaxies is believed to correspond to the growth of active nuclei, probing the population of obscured AGN at high redshift is a particularly important capability of deep Chandra and XMM surveys. We present first results of the ELAIS/SCUBA Chandra survey, including optical and IR spectroscopic identifications, and explote the constraints these data place on models of the XRB requiring a vast population of heavily obscured AGN.
