Description
Observations of interstellar Na I in the spectra of 93 stars within 315 pc from the Sun show that it lies in a tunnel of gas moving away from Scorpio-Centaurus and is surrounded by gas moving toward the Galactic center. Gas approaches the Sun from Scorpio-Centaurus expanding from (r,l,b) = (160 pc, 313^circ7, +28^circ2) with LSR velocity 15.3 km s^{-1}. The radius of this shell is 153 pc. We identify these clouds: D: velocity vector (v_d, l_d, b_d)=(+7.2 km s^{-1}, 305^circ1, -13^circ5), above and below the Galactic plane (GP) in the range of Galactic longitudes 357^circ-55^circ. C: velocity vector (v_c, l_c, b_c)=(+11.5 km s^{-1}, 349^circ0, -35^circ2), above and below the GP in the range 30^circ<= l <=110^circ. M: velocity vector (v_m, l_m, b_m)=(+21.9 km s^{-1}, 34^circ2, +1^circ5), above and below the GP in the range 100^circ<= l <=130^circ. P: velocity vector (v_p, l_p, b_p)=(+13.8 km s^{-1}, 224^circ9, +5^circ4), above and below the GP from l ~120^circ to the limit of our data at l ~210^circ. E: velocity vector (v_e, l_e, b_e)=(+16.8 km s^{-1}, 208^circ4, +6^circ2) in the range 160^circ<= l <=185^circ and -10^circ<= b <=-35^circ. A: velocity vector (v_a, l_a, b_a)=(+12.9 km s^{-1}, 73^circ6, -5^circ6) towards the Galactic anti-center, below the GP. I: velocity vector (v_i, l_i, b_i)=(+37.7 km s^{-1}, 132^circ8, -64^circ3) towards the Galactic anti-center, above the GP.
