  • Observation of Electroweak Production of Same-Sign W Boson Pairs in the Two Jet and Two Same-Sign Lepton Final State in Proton-Proton Collisions at √{s }=13 TeV
    The first observation of electroweak production of same-sign W boson pairs in proton-proton collisions is reported. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb-1 collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. Events are selected by requiring exactly two leptons (electrons or muons) of the

  • Non-grey dimming events of KIC 8462852 from GTC spectrophotometry
    We report ground-based spectrophotometry of KIC 8462852 obtained during its first dimming events since the end of the Kepler mission. The dimmings show a clear colour signature and are deeper in visual blue than in red wavelengths. The wavelength dependency of the flux loss can be described with an absorption Ångström coefficient of 2.19 ± 0.45

  • NIHAO - XIV. Reproducing the observed diversity of dwarf galaxy rotation curve shapes in ΛCDM
    The significant diversity of rotation curve (RC) shapes in dwarf galaxies has recently emerged as a challenge to Λ cold dark matter (ΛCDM): in dark matter (DM) only simulations, DM haloes have a universal cuspy density profile that results in self-similar RC shapes. We compare RC shapes of simulated galaxies from the NIHAO (Numerical Investigation

  • Morpho-kinematic properties of field S0 bulges in the CALIFA survey
    We study a sample of 28 S0 galaxies extracted from the integral field spectroscopic (IFS) survey Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area. We combine an accurate two-dimensional (2D) multicomponent photometric decomposition with the IFS kinematic properties of their bulges to understand their formation scenario. Our final sample is representative of

  • Measurements of the p p→ ZZ production cross section and the Z→ 4ℓ branching fraction, and constraints on anomalous triple gauge couplings at √{s} = 13 {TeV}
    Four-lepton production in proton-proton collisions, p p→ (Z/ γ ^*)(Z/γ ^*) → 4ℓ , where ℓ = e or μ , is studied at a center-of-mass energy of 13 {TeV} with the CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 {fb}^{-1}. The ZZ production cross section, σ (p p→ ZZ) = 17.2 ± 0.5 {(stat)} ± 0.7 {(syst)} ± 0.4 {
