  • QUEST1 variability survey (QVS). III. (Rengstorf+, 2009)
QUEST1 constructed a 16-chip CCD camera to be used on the 1m Schmidt telescope at the Llano del Hato National Astronomical Observatory in Venezuela. Normally operated in the drift-scan mode, an equatorial scan will expose any point on the sky for 143s and result in limiting magnitudes of B=18.5, V=19.2, and R=19.5 at S/N=10. These data were

  • Quantifying downsizing & its origin: the mass assembly of galaxies and the role of AGN
We present our latest results based on the Spitzer Cosmological Surveys about the characterization of the mass assembly of galaxies in the last 12 Gyr. We have analyzed the stellar mass function up to z=4 using a sample of galaxies selected in the rest-frame near-infrared with Spitzer/IRAC, and the SFR function using MIPS data. Our results confirm

  • Pulsations in the late-type Be star HD 50 209 detected by CoRoT
Context: The presence of pulsations in late-type Be stars is still a matter of controversy. It constitutes an important issue to establish the relationship between non-radial pulsations and the mass-loss mechanism in Be stars. Aims: To contribute to this discussion, we analyse the photometric time series of the B8IVe star HD 50 209 observed by the

  • Post-AGB stars with hot circumstellar dust: binarity of the low-amplitude pulsators
Context: The influence of binarity on the late stages of stellar evolution remains an open issue. Aims: While the first binary post-AGB stars were serendipitously discovered, the distinct characteristics of their spectral energy distribution (SED) allowed us to launch a more systematic search for binaries. We selected post-AGB objects, which

  • Planetary transit of TrES-1 and TrES-2 (Rabus+, 2009)
We observed several transits of TrES-1 and TrES-2 with the IAC 80cm telescope. (2 data files).
