  • NEFER: a high resolution scanning Fabry-Perot spectrograph
The scanning Fabry-Perot spectrograph could give highly accurate, kinematical information of star forming regions (HH objects, protoplanetary disks and large scale flows) and the dynamics of isolated and interacting galaxies (resonances, galaxy pairs, compact groups). In this project we are developing a high spectral resolution scanning Fabry-Perot

  • Modelling the Space Domain: Domain Engineering for Avionics/Embedded Systems
The DOMENG project has introduced the Domain Engineering Process to the space community as a first stone on the roadmap to build a model-based and reused- oriented software production system, based on the analysis and modelling of the Space domain. At the current stage, the first iteration of the domain engineering process is close to an end and

  • Massive stars and their surrounding nebulae: A combined approach
We present the first results of a project aimed at the combined study of massive stars and their surrounding nebulae by means of a detailed study of Galactic H II regions ionized by only one massive star. With this, we intend to check the validity of the new generation of massive star model atmosphere codes in terms of ionizing flux distribution

  • Luminosity Functions of Evolved Populations in Galactic Globular Clusters
We propose to complete the observations for a project to produce definitive Color-Magnitude Diagrams (CMDs) for a carefully chosen sample of galactic globular clusters, using the Mosaic Camera on the Blanco telescope. The large field size will enable us to efficiently cover to beyond the published tidal radius for even the larger clusters in our

  • Limits to the planet candidate GJ 436c
We report on H-band, ground-based observations of a transit of the hot Neptune GJ 436b. Once combined to achieve sampling equivalent to archived observations taken with Spitzer, our measurements reach comparable precision levels. We analyze both sets of observations in a consistent way, and measure the rate of orbital inclination change to be of 0
