  • Strange physics of dark baryons
Dark sector particles at the GeV scale carrying baryon number provide an attractive framework for understanding the origin of dark matter and the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe. We demonstrate that dark decays of hadronic states containing strange quarks—hyperons—offer excellent prospects for discovering such dark baryons. Building up

  • The MURALES survey. VI. Properties and origin of the extended line emission structures in radio galaxies
This is the sixth paper presenting the results of the MUse RAdio Loud Emission line Snapshot survey. We observed 37 radio sources from the 3C sample with z < 0.3 and a declination < 20° with the Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer optical integral field spectrograph at the Very Large Telescope. Here, we focus on the properties of the extended

  • Multicomponent scalar dark matter at high-intensity proton beam experiments
We study a scalar dark matter (DM) model with two DM species coupled to the standard model (SM) particles via a sub-GeV dark photon. In this model, we find that DM conversion occurs through the dark photon and it plays a fundamental role in setting the observed relic abundance. Furthermore, the two DM candidates can be produced at fixed-target

  • Photoionized Herbig-Haro objects in the Orion Nebula through deep high-spectral resolution spectroscopy - III. HH 514
We analyse the physical conditions and chemical composition of the photoionized Herbig-Haro object HH 514, which emerges from the protoplanetary disc (proplyd) 170-337 in the core of the Orion Nebula. We use high-spectral resolution spectroscopy from Ultraviolet and Visual Echelle Spectrograph at the Very Large Telescope and IFU-spectra from MEGARA

  • Probing for the host galaxies of the fast X-ray transients XRT 000519 and XRT 110103
Over the past few years, ~30 extragalactic fast X-ray transients (FXRTs) have been discovered, mainly in Chandra and XMM-Newton data. Their nature remains unclear, with proposed origins, including a double neutron star merger, a tidal disruption event involving an intermediate-mass black hole and a white dwarf, or a supernova shock breakout.
