Description

The differential interferometer allows differential measurements of displacements between two flat mirrors with an accuracy well below the micron. The laser beam incident on the interferometer is divided into four beams, two for reference and two for measurement, which makes it very tolerant to changes such as thermal expansion or variations in air characteristics, as they affect both beams in the same way. The interferometer allows linear and also angular measurements between the mirrors.
