A telescope is an optical system which collects a lot of light and allows us to “see” objects as if they were much nearer. The first day of the conference “Science with the GTC” which is held in Puebla (Mexico) was focused on the scientific results obtained with OSIRIS, an optical instrument for imaging and spectroscopy. On the second day CanariCam, a camera-spectrograph-polarimeter in the middle infrared competed for attention. The two instruments are attached to the Gran Telescopio CANARIAS (GTC).
