  • Size evolution of massive galaxies
We present the preliminary results of cosmological simulation focused on the study of the size and velocity dispersion time evolution. We have study the main morphological features of a sample of more that 200 galaxies having masses between 5 x 10^{10} M_&sun; and 5 x 10^{11} M_&sun;. We compared the results obtained from the analysis of the

  • Shock-induced polarized hydrogen emission lines in the Mira star o Ceti
Context. In the spectra of variable pulsating stars, especially Mira stars, the detection of intense hydrogen emission lines has been explained by the presence of a radiative and hypersonic shock wave, periodically propagating throughout the stellar atmosphere. Previous observation of the Mira star o Ceti around one of its brightest maximum light

  • Shaping massive galaxies: their morphology and kinematics at z = 1-3
Massive (M_* ≥ 10^{11} M_&sun;) galaxies at high redshift (z ≥ 1.5) remain mysterious objects. Their extremely small sizes (effective radii of 1-2 kpc) make them as dense as modern globular clusters. It is thought that a highly dissipational merger is needed to create such compact galaxies. Within this proceedings, we discuss this issue, along with
