Astrophysical Parameters of LS 2883 and Implications for the PSR B1259-63 Gamma-ray BinaryOnly a few binary systems with compact objects display TeV emission. The physical properties of the companion stars represent basic input for understanding the physical mechanisms behind the particle acceleration, emission, and absorption processes in these so-called gamma-ray binaries. Here we present high-resolution and high signal-to-noiseNegueruela, Ignacio et al.

Absorption signatures of warm-hot gas at low redshift: O VIWe investigate the origin and physical properties of O VI absorbers at low redshift (z= 0.25) using a subset of cosmological, hydrodynamical simulations from the OverWhelmingly Large Simulations (OWLS) project. Intervening O VI absorbers are believed to trace shock-heated gas in the warm-hot intergalactic medium (WHIM) and may thus play a key roleTepper-García, Thorsten et al.

A tale of two GRB-SNe at a common redshift of z=0.54We present ground-based and Hubble Space Telescope optical observations of the optical transients (OTs) of long-duration Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs) 060729 and 090618, both at a redshift of z= 0.54. For GRB 060729, bumps are seen in the optical light curves (LCs), and the late-time broad-band spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of the OT resembleCano, Z. et al.

A search for radio counterparts to Chandra ULX candidatesWe present a systematic search for radio counterparts to Ultraluminous X-ray (ULX) source candidates based on a cross-correlation of the Swartz et al. (2004) ULX catalogue based on Chandra data and the FIRST radio survey. We find seven cases of conspicuous peaks of radio emission that could be associated to ULX sources. Among these seven ULX radioPérez-Ramírez, D. et al.
